1. Reflection Brainstorm Scaffold
- SPECIFIC MOMENT — Identify three moments from the semester when your writing changed: a peer review comment that surprised you, a revision that improved your argument, feedback that confused you at first. Write one sentence about each.
- BEFORE AND AFTER — For one of those moments, describe what you believed or did before it happened, and what you understood or did differently after. This is the core of metacognitive reflection.
- STRUGGLE TO GROWTH — What was the hardest writing challenge this semester? What specific action did you take to address it — even partially? Avoid vague claims; cite actual draft evidence.
- TRANSFER — Name one skill from EGL 1010 (synthesis, source evaluation, thesis building) and describe one specific situation in another course where you could apply it. Be concrete.
- OPENING HOOK — Draft one sentence that opens your reflection with a specific moment or insight — not 'In this reflection, I will discuss.' Try: 'The peer reviewer circled my floating quotation in red and wrote: who said this?'
Turn in / bring: Use this scaffold to generate raw material before drafting. The Reflection Project is due Tuesday, November 24 by 11:59 PM via Canvas — 500–700 words minimum.
