1. Source Integration Checklist
- SIGNAL PHRASE — Does each quotation or paraphrase begin with the author's name and an attribution verb (argues, notes, contends)?
- FORM — Is this a direct quotation (exact words + quotation marks + citation), a paraphrase (restated in your words + citation), or a summary (whole-source condensed + citation)?
- CITATION — Is the in-text parenthetical complete and correctly placed after the quotation or paraphrase?
- ANALYSIS — After the evidence, do YOU explain in your own words what it means for your argument? Is the analysis at least as long as the evidence?
- WORKS CITED — Is there a matching Works Cited entry for every source used in the essay?
